Before my son was born, I was terrified of giving birth. I was scared of the pain, the immodesty, and everything that could go wrong. I sought advice from friends and doctors and books and blogs, but found little comfort. However, I did discover something surprising-- It seemed like other women (and sometimes men) were actually trying to scare me about giving birth.

When I was a little kiddo, my mom rocked at giving Easter baskets. She pretty much rocked at all holiday festivities, but I particularly remember the Easter baskets-- they were epic. And they weren't just stuffed with traditional fare like chocolate bunnies and marshmallow peeps-- they were also loaded with books, clothes for my American Girl doll, costume jewelry, stuffed animals, and more.
One year she gave me a dollhouse. A gigantic three-story dollhouse with real shingles on the roof and a real staircase and carpet and wallpaper. She made it.
I'm a sucker for fairy tales. Whether it's the disney version, the old-school creepy version or a modern retelling with some silly twists, I will watch it, read it, and love it.
